Dogs are not allowed in the castle, not even in a bag. Service and guide dogs are an exception.

Cycling is not permitted on the castle grounds and bicycles may not be brought into the castle courtyard. There are several bicycle parking options available, for example on Kronborgvej and by the castle guard at the entrance to the castle area.

Strollers and prams are not allowed inside the castle and must be parked according to staff instructions.

Yes, Kronborg Castle is a perfect day trip from Copenhagen. Take the train directly from Copenhagen to Helsingør and then it's only a short and beautiful walk along the harbor with a view of the castle all the way.

Yes, you can upgrade your ticket within 24 hours at the castle, provided you bought it at the castle’s ticket office at the entrance. Tickets purchased online or through other retailers cannot be upgraded to an annual pass. The ticket cannot be upgraded online.

You can also purchase admission tickets by card at the red gate after the last moat. Getting here by public transport By train: Take the coastal train (Kystbanen, DSB) to Helsingør Station. Trains run directly from Copenhagen approximately every 20 minutes. From the station, it’s a 10-minute walk to Kronborg Castle. By bus: Bus lines 801A and 802 stop at Helsingør Station. By ferry: Ferries from Helsingborg (Sweden) arrive at the ferry terminal right next to the station.
